Dear BMR sponsors,

While we had a bit of respite locally on the first weekend of October, Trina and Edwin were busy racking up some time on the wood in upstate New York. Other parts of the country are really developing their cross programs, and upstate New York is a cross scene that is definitely heating up, as T & E found out. They were able to fly the BMR colors in style to double wins for each of them, while checking in on the form of the local talent on the Northern border.

A small lapse in my own form, although discouraging, has allowed the full depth of the 35+ team to be realized in the form of Tim Thompson. Renowned mountain bike racer and handler extraordinaire, Timmy has really hit his stride this season. Tim NAILED a pair super results against a stacked field at the BASP opener, and the Velo Bella Halloween extravaganza. We are both looking forward to the upcoming races where we can really ride a "team" race, taking turns attacking the group to better the team's chances for the win.

Janel has found that the bulk of her masters womens' competition has opted to race the Pro-Am races to better their form. In an effort to race in kind, Janel will now be racing the CCCX series in the Pro-Am class. Today actually marks the two year anniversary of Janel's last chemo treatment, and she has just recently realized that she finally feels 100% again. I would expect that she will continue to grow stronger as the season progresses, reinforcing what courage and determination can reveal, in the human spirit in each of us.

Bruce and Mark continue to make strides in form as we enter the real meat of the season. Bruce even had his strongest ride at CCCX #3 so far this season. Look for more, and even better results from the both of them.
