Mark has been athletic all his life, with his main interest taking life on the soccer field. After a soccer career spanning more than 20 years, the toll on the knees finally forced Mark to consider other avenues of athleticism. Mark began dabbling in cycling with varied results, but with the suggestion from a brother-in-law, Mark found the discipline of cyclocross. Mixed results turned to real results, and Mark has been a solid performer in hyper-competitive NorCal scene for the past 8 years, netting the Elite 45+ title in the Bay Area Super Prestige series in '05 & '06, as well as the '05 Central Coast CX Elite 45+ title.
